Valve information
All of our valves originate out of the USA, they are produced by Pacific Bag Inc. who have appointed us as their exclusive distribution partner in Europe. These one-way degassing valves allow pressure to be released from an airtight package while not allowing external atmosphere to enter the package. Once the pressure inside of a sealed package exceeds the valve opening pressure the rubber disk in the valve momentarily opens, which allows gas to escape out of the package. When the pressure inside the sealed package drops back below the valve opening pressure the valve will once again close. One-way degassing valves are useful for packaging products which are sensitive to oxygen, moisture, release gas or entrapped air. The valves can be attached to a flexible package in order to relieve pressure build-up and protect the interior contents from the damaging effects of oxygen and moisture.
IMPORTANT QUALITIES:
There are three important qualities of a one-way degassing valve that must be understood:
1. Barrier to oxygen - This is the valve's ability to prevent Oxygen from penetrating through it. The valve must prevent Oxygen penetration in order to protect oxygen sensitive products inside a package. This quality is measured by the percent of Oxygen (%O2) in a package after a time of storage.
2. Open and Close pressure - The valve must open at some low Opening Pressure or packages will become over-inflated ("puffy") or burst. The valve must close at some lower Closing Pressure in order to prevent Oxygen penetration. The valve must open and close repeatedly over time.
3. Flow Rate - Gas must be able to flow through the valve at a rate that is sufficient to evacuate the package in the amount of time needed for production.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:
• Fresh roasted coffee which generates gas inside the bag and also needs protection from oxygen and moisture.
• Various specialty foods that have active ingredients such as yeast and cultures.
• Large bulk flexible packages which require the release of excess air from packages for palletization (e.g. 33 lbs. pet food, resin, etc.)
• Other flexible packages with polyethylene (PE) interior that require one-way release of pressure from inside the package.
101-NF Valve
The 101-NF valve - which is WIPF/Sig compatible - is a heat sealed one-way degassing valve for manual and automatic equipment. Valve adheres to the polyethylene (PE) interior of the package via heat seal or ultrasonic seal for application at high speeds and can be applied using existing equipment in the field.

Pressure Sensitive / Label Style Valve
Label style degassing valves are used for packaging of institutional coffees (e.g. O.C.S, Frac Pack) and other off gassing coffees. Valve adheres to the exterior of the package via pressure sensitive adhesive that permits application at high speeds and can be applied using existing equipment in the field including Plitek and Accraply.
